Who is ClimateAction.tech

and why are we doing a digital cleanup?

We are a community of practice of tech workers that provides support and guidance for systemic change in our organisations and industries, to face the climate crisis.

Data’s environmental footprint

In 2022, about 70 million servers were used to store data.

Each one caused the production of 1–2 tons of CO2.*

A single data center can consume up to 5 million gallons of drinking water a day.**

About 20 million servers became e-waste.*
