4 of 71

Introduction

This assignment is about the team project of IE201. The assignment will be divided into 5 phases. Each phase will discuss a certain step into completing our project. Within each step we will use effective problem-solving techniques to help guide us into completing this project.

5 of 71

OBJECTIVES

  • Present how we practiced effective problem-solving techniques learned from this course.
  • Present what was learned into the project.
  • Demonstrate our ability to function as a productive team.
  • Present our professionalism of work.

Problem Definition

7 of 71

OBJECTIVES OF L3-A

  • Show how to gather information.
  • Present a Dunker Diagram.
  • Present using the Statement/Restatement technique.

8 of 71

INTRODUCTION OF L3_A

Identifying the problem is the first step and one of the most important steps in the process. In this presentation we will identify some of the problems we face in our lives and we need to take 2 steps to fully identify the problem.

9 of 71

STEPS OF L3-A

  • Step1: Gathering information and collecting data.
  • Step2: Problem Definition.

10 of 71

STEP 1: GATHERING INFORMATION

This is the most important step in defining the problem.

Gathering Information

We put the most important figure in our findings.

8- Do the people in your home have enough experience in first aid?

No experience

12 of 71

Step 2: Problem Definition

  • After collecting the data about the problem, the next step is to define the problem. In this step we will use 2 effective techniques we learned in this course which are:
    • Dunker Diagram.
    • Statement/Restatement

13 of 71

Teaching people the importance of first aid

Teach people how to use it

Making television programs teach people how to use them

Create practical courses to teach people to use first aid

Place an educational board inside the first aid kit

Simplify and facilitate the way they are used

Add a simple sound system inside the first aid kit for guidance

Make the first aid kit small and lightweight

It must be assembled and arranged inside the kit for easy handling

Check the availability of it in all places

Make sure by parents to have a first aid kit in each home

There should be a first aid kit in shops spread like groceries, especially on travel routes

Imposing a fine on anyone who does not put a first aid kit in his car

Generating Ideas

17 of 71

OBJECTIVES OF L3-B

  • Present our musts & wants.
  • Show a SCAMPER Checklist.
  • Show an example of random Stimulation.

18 of 71

STEPS OF L3-B

  • Step1: show a table of musts
  • Step2: show a SCAMPER Checklist.
  • Step3: show a table of wants.
  • Step4: Show an example of random Stimulation.
  • Step5: show our 10 musts & 10 wants.

19 of 71

  • We used the individual brainstorming method in order to generate 5 ideas for musts by each member.

Conclusion

After completing this course we have learned a lot of useful things. We learned effective problem-solving techniques that will help us at our engineering career, how to communicate greatly with a team, how to become more professional. We have completed the 5 phases of our project and ready to demonstrate it.
