[Name of School] Has a School-BasedHealth Center!

SBHCs are different from your local county health department and the school nurse. They are able to provide physical and mental health services right at the school, including:

    • Primary care, such as routine physical exams, prescriptions, treating minor illnesses and injuries, and more.
    • Prevention and early intervention, such as screenings and counseling.
    • Behavioral health counseling
    • Dental services
    • Health education and nutrition guidance
    • Lab work

That means you won’t have to take time off of work or find transportation to take your child to the doctor. They can get everything they need at their school, and get right back to class.

Care is provided at no cost to students and no student will be turned away, regardless of your ability to pay or citizenship status.

COVID-19 Vaccinations and Boosters Now Available at [NAME]

Why Are COVID-19 Vaccinations and Boosters Important?

    • Children are just as likely as adults to be infected with COVID-19. They are at risk and can experience both short- and long-term health complications. They can spread COVID-19 to others, including younger siblings or older relatives who are at higher risk.
    • COVID-19 vaccination is safe for children six months and older. Boosters are safe for children ages five and older. Vaccines and boosters provide strong protection against serious illness from the virus.

What Should We Expect?

    • COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters are available right at [NAME]’s on site health center, at no cost to you.
    • Your child might have some side effects after they get a COVID-19 vaccine. These are normal signs that the body is building protection, and the side effects, if any, should go away after a few days.

How Do We Get a Vaccination or Booster?

    • Call [PHONE] or visit [URL] to make an appointment today.
    • If your child is ages fifteen or older, they can make a medical appointment on their own for health care services, including the COVID-19 vaccine and booster. Students ages fourteen or older can also make their own appointment for mental health services. This is true at all health care clinics, including our school-based health clinic.
    • Children can safely receive other vaccines the same day they receive their COVID-19 vaccine.

WE DO ALL THAT WE CAN TO PROTECT OUR CHILDREN. ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS WE CAN DO RIGHT NOW IS GET THEM VACCINATED AND BOOSTED AGAINST COVID-19.

COVID-19 Vaccines and Boosters are free, safe, and they work!

Why Do I Need a COVID-19 Vaccine or Booster?

    • Vaccines can keep you from getting really sick. They also can keep you from spreading COVID-19 to your family and friends.
    • Even if you've had COVID-19, the vaccine and boosters protect you. Vaccines are strong and effective, but they wear off over time. That’s why it is important to stay up to date on your COVID-19 vaccines and boosters.

What should I expect?

    • This is a quick and easy visit. A quick poke and you’ll be on your way.
    • You might have some side effects. These are normal signs that your body is building protection, and any discomfort should go away after a few days.

How do I get my COVID-19 Vaccine or Booster?

Stop by the health center or call to make an appointment. We’re here to answer any questions. COVID-19 vaccines and boosters are available at no cost to you and no insurance is required. In Oregon, anyone 15 and older can make their own decisions about their medical care and vaccinations, including making an appointment or visiting a health center.
