B-SAFE 2020 DioMass Cuts & Solutions

  • For 2020, DioMass granted B-SAFE enough to cover 2.5 sites ($185K). SSYP raising $ for 4.5 sites
  • Over past three years, DioMass cut B-SAFE $65K and B-PEACE $10K
  • For 2020, BCH Campership cut of $25K compared to 2019 funding
  • DioMass considering changing how St Stephens vicar/SSYP ED is funded (would be $80K cut)
  • Minimum wage up to $12.75

Here is what we are doing, could be doing to create solutions...

  • No longer a “fund the gap” situation
  • Not opening St. Luke’s, St. Mary’s sites in 2020 (decrease: 110 youth, 32 teens, 16 adults, 100+ vols)
  • Will bring fewer youth and teens to BCH in 2020
  • Still appreciate grants from your parish Outreach Committees.
  • Partner leaders could get on various DioMass committees and attend budget hearings, to talk about what B-SAFE means to you and your congregation
  • Generate ideas about DioMass endowment and draw rate
