The current situation, Dec 1 2022

  • The strike is not over.
  • It is impossible to finish the course “the normal way” without staff.
  • We’ve developed a contingency plan.
  • If the strike ends very soon, we will add “layers” to these plans, such as
    • More office hours
    • Review sessions
    • Some grading
  • This means these plans are firm as of now, but subject to change.

Final exam plans

  • 100% online exam, will be done as a Gradescope Quiz.
  • All questions will be auto-graded (multiple choice, true/false, etc).
  • Scope:
    • Up to and including Environmental DS, excluding Causal Inference.
    • This means lectures 1-23, minus lecture 19.
    • PCA material is only from lecture: nothing from Lab 12 nor HW 9.
  • Time and length of the exam:
    • All students will start at the normal time, Tuesday December 13, 3pm.
    • Non-DSP students have 1 hour to complete it.
    • DSP students have their respective time extensions (1 ½ or 2h)
    • Exam will be over by 5pm for everyone.
  • We will use the lecture zoom link to answer questions/broadcast info.
    • You will be able to ask questions on the Q&A.
  • Academic integrity norms still apply
    • Exam will be “open notes”: you can consult your own notes + slides/textbook.
    • You can NOT ask questions of anyone but the instructors on the Q&A, you can NOT interact with anyone online during the exam.
