Who takes

  • By law, all students entering 11th grade must take a career readiness assessment. 11th grade students refers to students in their third year of high school after their initial enrollment (9GR=23)
    • Students who did not earn a 3 on all tests are eligible to test (9GR22)
      • Can take a single assessment
    • 9GR22 who don’t have scores on Math, Reading and Data have to test

Test Security

    • Secure documents
      • Printed testing roster or any other documentation containing student usernames and passwords are secure
        • Student usernames and passwords may not be transmitted by email or non-secure fax
      • Any paper or materials with student writing on it
      • Testing roster should be used to account for test tickets before, during and after testing

Test Security

    • Secure materials must be kept in secure, locked storage when not in use
    • DO NOT leave secure materials unattended at any time
    • Access to secure materials is restricted to testing sessions and make-up testing sessions
      • STC should not sign out or distribute secure materials to TAs until the day of the test

Test Security

    • Test items are secure
    • Not permitted to read test items before testing, during testing or after testing
    • On testing days, no content-related instruction or review with students should be done after TA has received secure materials
    • Test may not be previewed by anyone prior to the test session.
    • Only students being tested are allowed to look at the test at the time of testing

Test Security

    • Students may not be in possession of any electronic or other device that can be used for communicating, recording, timing, creating images or storing images
    • All electronic devices must be collected before students begin taking the test and returned only after all students have completed testing

Test Security

    • All suspected test security violations must be reported to the SCDE
    • Read and follow the South Carolina test security laws, regulations and policies
    • Sign the appropriate Test Security Agreement

STC Responsibilities

  • Read and follow the SC test security laws, regulations and policies and sign Test Security Agreement
  • Check that every testing computer has Respondus lockdown browser installed
  • Check that Extended time and SpeechStream has been enabled for students requiring them
  • Train TAs and monitors
  • Collect and securely destroy scratch paper after testing
  • Report all test security violations

TA Responsibilities

  • Read and follow the SC test security laws, regulations and policies and sign Test Security Agreement
  • Attend a TA Training session
  • Read and follow all instructions in TAM
  • Launch and monitor assessments
  • Distribute and collect scratch paper and calculators – CLEAR CALCULATOR MEMORY before and after testing
  • Ensure required accommodations are provided
  • Ensure testing location is free from distractions

    • Given prior to test day
    • Students with extended time must be tested separately from students testing using standard time
    • Students with the same amount of authorized extended time may be tested together, but the group must stay together and proceed to the next test at the same time
    • Students with extended time may move on to the next test if all students indicate they are finished by submitting their test

  • WIN recommends a ratio of 30:1
  • Seating should be about 3 feet apart
  • All subject-related materials have been covered or removed
  • All students in the same room must have the same timing code

  • Calculators
    • There is a four function calculator available on test
    • If a calculator is provided by the school and it has a memory, the memory MUST be cleared before and after testing

Re-Open tests

Reopen tests

  • Correct accommodations have not been applied and answered 10 or fewer questions
  • Student left test early because they are sick
  • Student began the wrong test
  • Student accidentally pressed the submit button

The student will have to re-take the whole assessment

Watch the tutorials if they have not already done so

Read the Test Administration Script aloud to students and then read the appropriate test script for the assessment to be administered

When the students are ready to take

the test, select apply changes and YES

Export rosters to create tickets.

  • Use Class Roster Preview
  • Use the column choose to get the field you want
  • Be sure to select email address from column chooser
  • Select password from the column chooser. Passwords will be hidden on the screen but will export
