Introduction to the grant:

  • What is the grant? What are the goals?

A long-term, reflective PD model(s) specific to educators in informal learning contexts. This will include a set of resources developed by our partnering sites, as well a set of strategies to support the individual and collective reflective practices of educators in informal learning contexts.

Increase our knowledge of how to shift educators’ pedagogical practices around youths’ experiences with failures while making. We expect to understand the promotive factors of the PD program that will encourage educators to take pedagogical risks before and after youth experience failure.

    • Throughout April and May, we will decide when and where to film during summer programs and in the tinkering hub
    • Facilitators and educators will be mic’ed while filming
    • Meg will do a quick 5 minute interview with you after filming
    • Each person will review videos to find “failure-rich” moments
    • Each person will choose 2 clips for us to discuss as a group
    • Each person will leave with an action item they’d like to implement moving forward to better navigate failure moments
