What is the Well Workplace Policy?

  • One of many recommendations from the

New Workplace Taskforce (NeWT)

  • Organization-wide policy that defines:
    • how work is performed to ensure operational effectiveness
    • accountability
    • equitable service delivery
    • align departmental practices with County policies, resources, and business needs.

NeWT:

-18 employees from across the organization

-Purpose: to identify the problems and recommendations for our “new” workplace.

Why?

Our goal isn’t to make everyone work the same way—

it’s to create clarity around how we work best together while continuing to serve our community.

  • Create clarity and consistency – Establish shared expectations for how, when, and where we work
  • Balance flexibility with accountability – Support flexibility where the work allows while ensuring clear expectations for performance, availability, communication, and collaboration.
  • Recognize that different jobs have different needs – Create an equitable framework that respects the realities of on-site, hybrid, remote, field-based, and shift-based work.
  • Support great service to our community – Make sure our work arrangements continue to provide reliable, responsive, and accessible service.
  • Build trust through open communication – Encourage employees and managers to regularly talk about expectations, feedback, what’s working, and what may need to change.
