What is it?

WIAA Bylaw

An athlete forfeits amateur status in a sport by capitalizing on athletic fame by receiving money, compensation, endorsements, or gifts of monetary value in affiliation or connection with activities involving the student’s school team, school, conference, or WIAA (scholarships to institutions of higher learning are specifically exempted).

Prohibited NIL Activities:

• appear in uniform using name or logo of school, conference, or WIAA
• Promoting activities or products associated with gaming/gambling, alcohol, tobacco, cannabis or related banned or illegal substances, adult entertainment product/services or weapons.
• compensation based on athletic performance or achievement
• compensation from school or person associated with the school
• interferes with academic or school athletic obligations
• utilize representation or contract an agent
