Title 1 Documentation

Title 1 Schoolwide Program

• A Title I Schoolwide Program is funded through the free and reduced status at Silver Creek Elementary

​

• Parents are encouraged to fill out this application to help our students.

​

• A Title I Schoolwide program requires SCE to service the most academically at-risk students in the school.

Title I Schoolwide Program

• A schoolwide program requires students to be ranked according to 3 data points, one of which must be state approved.

​

• SCE uses our state standardized test, Reading Inventory (RI), and teacher referral for grades 4 and 5

​

• SCE uses Reading Inventory (RI), Developmental Reading Assessment, and teacher referral for grade 3

​

• SCE uses Amplify Text Reading Comprehension (TRC), DIBELS 8, and teacher referral for grade 3

Senate Enrolled Act No. 217 - The Dyslexia Law

• An approved IDOE Universal Screener with all 6 subset skill areas must be administered to all K-2 students. SCE uses Amplify’s DIBELS as the Universal Screener

• Local decisions are made to determine at-risk and at-some risk benchmarks and screener date(s).

​

• Students who demonstrate weak phonemic awareness as defined as at-risk by local decision must be administered a level 1 screener; parent permission must be obtained at this time
