Important!

Every guest at this dinner party will have the opportunity to guess who killed Charles Baskerville.

This dinner party came to be after Sir Henry Baskerville reached out to his longtime friend Sherlock Holmes. Henry wanted to know who killed his uncle. Sherlock suggested that a group of people from the nearby town join those who knew Charles closely for a dinner to figure out the murderer. While Sherlock is not present at the party, he expects that the guests will be able to deduce this information for themselves. They will have the opportunity to see if they have reached the same conclusions as Holmes at the end.

Mrs. Stapleton

Introduction: I am Mrs. Stapleton, the wife of Mr. Stapleton. I have a small farm and a lot of animals to take care of. You’ve probably never seen me around town because I spend so much time with my animals.

29 of 36

William

I am the chimney sweep at Baskerville Moors. I was invited to dinner tonight by Sir Henry Baskerville because he wanted to get to know some of the people who work around the house. Sir Charles was not like that, he didn’t even know my name.

30 of 36

Minnie

I work at a nearby textile mill. William invited me to dinner as his date. He has been courting me for some time. I know everyone in town but I have never seen the Stapleton’s before.

31 of 36

Bessie

I am a seamstress. Although he was not the most friendly man, Charles Baskerville used to throw many parties. I am sad he is gone because I used to get so much business from all of the affluent women in town before his annual Christmas party.

MURDERER: [TOP SECRET]

This file was compiled by Sherlock Holmes prior to this dinner party. This is who he determined to be the murderer of Charles Baskerville.

33 of 36

Mr. Stapleton

It is clear that Mr. Stapleton is the murderer. Did you notice that there is someone unaccounted for on the Baskerville family tree? Roger Baskerville! Now, Mr. Stapleton is far too young to be Roger himself, but he is his son. He returned to Baskerville moors to reclaim the Baskerville fortune by killing off his uncle and his cousin. Once they were dead he was going to come forward as the sole heir to the property. Mr. Stapleton’s lack of proper dresswear showed me that he was in a bit of financial trouble, presumably thats why he needs to kill for the fortune.
