We will have a little over 5 minutes to do a Gallery Walk showcasing Automation & Robotics.

  • Things to consider during the Gallery Walk:
    • Can you relate to the struggle or triumph shared?
    • Is this something you see yourself doing or wanting to do in your classroom?
    • How does the piece of student work relate to what you are seeing in your classroom?

Pacing

    • Create your own roadmaps to determine how getting to the final projects works in your schedule

1st 15 min spent reviewing presenter created pacing guide

Homing in on Skills

    • Determine which activities/projects the skill you are focusing on best fits and create a plan for the moves you will make to implement the skill

Increasing student engagement

    • Create a plan for how you can increase student engagement in your classroom:

      • Choosing projects you can tailor to student interests
      • When/how you can connect students to industry
      • Determine what opportunities you can provide for students to showcase their work

Guidelines for breakout groups

  1. Sit in collaboration groups of 3-5 educators

  • On post-its fill out the following and place on the poster board
    • Things that have gone well or I’m confident about
    • Things I’m looking for guidance on/a think partner

  • ~45 minutes to collaborate with your group and creating a plan from now to the end of the year for the content group you are in (using some of your post-its to spur conversation)

Keep the Collaboration Going!

Utilize today to find partners who teach the same courses as you and are at a similar place for what they want to work on this year and keep the collaboration going beyond today:

  • Utilize the Collaboration Schedule Charts (in the Odeum at lunch and closing)
  • Sit with colleagues and collaborate at lunch!
  • And ……. Tweet Your Meet!

Email Opt-in!

  • Opt into sharing your email address with others who teach the same course(s) as you!  We constantly get asked...do you know someone who teaches this same course?  Is there a teacher who is really excellent at X project?  Sign up to share your email so we can make connections!!

  • Use the remainder of the time to:
    • Plan when you and a partner or group want to meet (in person or virtually)
    • Plan what you want to discuss/work on for that meeting!
