ANNA WISE

Cade's student (1973-1981), a Humanistic psychologist, expanded the research beyond spirituality and healing, measuring the brainwaves of artists, composers, dancers, inventors, mathematicians, and scientists, as well as CEO's and president of corporations…

She found that the brain wave patterns of high performance, of creativity, the bursts of peak experience, the "ah-ha" or the "eureka" experience, were the same patterns that the yogis and swamis lived in.

She spent (1981-1989) more than 6,000 hours looking at people's brain waves and understanding how they relate to the individual's state of consciousness. Her research allowed her to develop a map of consciousness and EEG-monitored Meditation Training to teach people how to navigate their mind to access desired states.

Successful Meditation Tips

  1. Make sure you are comfortable. There is no right or wrong, it should be safe and comfortable for you to sit or lie down. Change position (clear the throat, etc.)
  2. Your habitual mind is used to hurry and may protest by wanting a faster pace. Set this container of time for yourself. Let go of any expectations. Nobody is to judge. The only goal is to enjoy this time for self-exploration, healing and transformation.
  3. If you missed words, did not understand the words, if the pause in meditation is too long, do not worry. Keep focusing on last task you heard and your experience. Do not think it, sense it and feel it!
  4. If you are invited to visualize and the image does not come, just focus on body sensations (as long as you are alive, you will feel something, i.e., tension, relaxation, warmth, tingling, etc.) And remember that sensualizing implies all senses, so if one does not want to work, smell, taste, touch… switch your channels!
  5. The only way to make it right is to allow yourself to enjoy every moment of it!

Meditation with the Mind Mirror Tips

  1. Decide which meditation you are going to do and what sensors you will use (EEG, BVP, GSR, Temp)
  2. Record 2–3-minute test BEFORE starting the main meditation. If needed, adjust settings, clear artefacts, ensure good quality connection and repeat.
  3. Select meditation from the MM Portal and press ‘Record’ in Vilistus.
  4. Confirm upload to MM portal when finished or do it manually.

When analysing (in Vilistus or MM Portal), check:1. Signal Quality (in Vilistus, set artefact markers if needed)2. Check MM Summary for AM, EM, GS scores (training level with 70% is yours)3. Check Summary Plot for AM, EM, GS. See when you showed GS or EM or AM on the highest level (10-lowest, 1-highest) and cross-reference with the script.4. Check Dominant Frequency for lowest spots, cross-reference with the script.5. Run Composite Summary Display (Amplitudes only) and look for any unusual behavior (i.e., drops of Alpha, increase of Beta, highest Theta and Delta). Try to cross-reference with the script and connect with your subjective experiences to identify issues and landmarks. Replay frame by frame to have a close look at how pattern changed/looked like in critical moments (voice recorder is always handy).

Meditation Analysis Disclaimer

  1. Presented results should not be seen as the ultimate truth or the goal and should be seen as a guidance to analysis and self-exploration.
  2. This is a single case that cannot be seen as a statistically valid presentation of what brainwaves behavior can be, though it may show common triggers or landmarks and general trends throughout the meditation.
  3. The brainwaves behavior (patterns) and related states, subjective experiences could be different for each individual as well as same individual may show different results on different days.
  4. Mind that certain meditations (like this one) are so charged that they will distort the scores due to excitement of profound insights. So, be attentive to flickering lights, movement artefacts, they might also be a sign of highly charged material.
  5. The presenter does the analysis to the best of her knowledge but there is a potential for mistake or limitations of present understanding of the material.
  6. Please see it as a sample for learning and invitation to test the findings yourself with the Mind Mirror.
