WHAT IS ARC?

THE JOURNEY OF ARC

  • ARC was formerly known as the Addison Business-Education Partnership Council, which was founded in 2004.

  • In fall 2016, we embarked on a rebranding effort to enhance our impact. Through that process, we met with several collective impact and cradle to career groups to learn more about their efforts. We then reassessed our goals and purpose and found there are already a tremendous amount of programs, events and services available in the Addison area. Our focus is to combine those efforts under one umbrella to have a greater collective impact.

ARC SUBCOMMITTEES

  • Based on that research, the group formed four subcommittees:
    • Engagement/Resources for Families
    • Grant Writing
    • Marketing/Branding

  • Each group then used the Results-Based Accountability model by Dan Duncan with the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) Institute at DePaul University to form results statements and indicators/performance measures.

      • Train community members on use of 211 DuPage database and ARC’s Addison Community Resource Guide.
      • Make sure family liaisons and social workers at the schools are trained on DuPage 211 and our resource guide. We would like to move on this, but we need to figure out logistics.
      • Work with DuPage County to make 211 DuPage marketing materials more accessible to the public.
      • With the end of several COVID-19 programs, lots of families have found it harder to access/afford food and medical care. We would like to discuss ways we can promote current resources and increase access.
