3.g. The SG is to invite States and Territories in the MoU Area, as well as, in coordination with the EG, IGOs whose objectives are aligned with the purposes of this MoU and that are active in the MoU Area, to become Signatories to the OCM

2. This MoU is open for signature by any State, Territory or IGO listed in Annex 1.

4. After commencement of this MoU a request to become a Signatory by an IGO not listed in Annex 1(..) is expected to be subject to consensus decisions of both the SG and EG.

1. States, Territories, and IGOs inside or outside of the MoU Area,

or other relevant bodies and entities,

may be invited by a decision of the Steering Group

to associate themselves with this Coordination Mechanism as observers.

1.e. The Steering Group may adopt, determine and regulate its own procedures, including procedures related to decision-making, the selection and rotation of the Chair, and the attendance and participation of observers at its meetings in accordance with the terms of this MoU;

1.g. Invite States and Territories in the MoU Area, as well as, in coordination with the Executive Group, IGOs whose objectives are aligned with the purposes of this MoU and that are active in the MoU Area, to become Signatories to this MoU;

agrees that invitations be extended to all States and Territories [and IGOs] listed in Annex 1 to the OCM MOU and that have not yet signed the MOU, to attend the Meetings of the OCM Steering Group as Observers, [and to also be invited to engage in any further OCM SG business in that same quality]

[(re)confirms that] [clarifies that], following the commencement of the OCM MOU, the United Kingdom Overseas Territories (UKOTs) that wish to do so and that are listed under OCM MOU Annex 1 "Potential Signatories for MOU Commencement", "States and Territories", item 31.a-e, [to] [can] join the OCM as individual OCM members by directly signing the OCM MOU [in coordination with the United Kingdom].

  • Week before: “Living Data” conference, in Bogota, Colombia (GBIF, OBIS,...)
  • The GEF IW:LEARN Project has funds to:
      • help co-finance a Regional Ocean Governance Dialogue (target region: LAC)
      • help co-finance an intra-regional SIDS Workshop (target region: Caribbean)
      • Project twinnings: GEF Projects PROCARIBE+ and African SIDS have submitted a proposal
  • SIDS Coalition for Nature
