Each of the rooms at CPH are individual rooms with a bed, couch, recliner, television and bathroom.
Once here, your nursing staff with continue to monitor your post-operative vital signs which are frequent at first but begin to taper off.
They will go over all the items in the room to include your call light which we want you to use and introducing your care team.
They will go over your pain tolerance and pain medication plan.
Once your vitals are good and pain management has been addressed, we will get your up out of bed.

During your stay you can expect:
Daily check-ins Surgical team Anesthesia provider Program coordinator(s) You’ll participate in: 1 occupational therapy session the morning after surgery They will be the ones to help you figure out how to put clothes on and other daily tasks 1-3 physical therapy sessions to prepare you to go home They will go over items such as getting in & out of bed range of motion exercises navigating stairs if you have them at home If you have stairs, we encourage your care partner to be there for this session so they can help you at home.
And we are going to encourage you to:
Sit in the recliner for your meals This will help you get in the routine of getting from one place to the other in your recovery zone at home It will also help your digestive tract start moving things around Use your incentive spirometers as instructed We will go over this more in a later slide Ask questions about your medications You should always know what you are taking and why anything else you may want more information on Someone will have an answer and if they don’t, they know who they can ask
