Virtual Exit Slip

(“What I Did Today”)

If students are working independently during class, have them complete a virtual exit slip before leaving to report out on what they did in class that day/what they need to do tomorrow/etc. There are some great options if you are trying to increase oracy!

Using Name tags to keep records of warnings

(Visual reminder for student only)

  • Recorded warnings inside of student name tag (right)>>>>

  • My students have name tags that act as their bathroom/hallway pass and as a record for keeping tardies. If a student has a repeated problem with misusing tech I will write the offense (Going on YouTube instead of class activity) inside of their name tag (so only they can see it) and after three X they get a detention.

  • My students usually respond to being moved closer to me in the lab and not being able to sit by their friends if they are not able to use their device responsibly. I’ve only had to actually do this a few times!
