CUBISM AND SURREALISM

6TH GRADE, UNIT 3

2 of 50

  • Surrealism is more about the subconscious mind and dreams, while Cubism is more about the visual.
  • Surrealism uses automatic writing and drawing to explore the subconscious, while Cubism uses mathematics and geometric shapes.
  • Surrealism is less realistic than Cubism, with its artists often using distortion and optical illusions to create their art.

CUBISMO

HOW TO MAKE A DREAMCATCHER

Step 1- Use the compass to draw two concentric circles. Divide the circles into eight equal parts.

Step 2- Cut out the ring and punch holes in each division line. Then decorate it.

Step 3- Thread the string through the holes to make a web. Tie beads onto more lengths of string.

Step 4- Tie the strings of bead to the outside of the ring. Attach a feather at the end of each string.
