We will be learning to

- recognise some features of other Asian cultures and use them to inspire craft.
- take part in a range of songs from different cultures and traditions
- understand how to create simple music within a specific soundscape or genre.
Understanding the World:
We will be learning to
Geography:
- understand what a map is and what it shows us.
- recognise some features of Chinese culture and other Asian cultures
- talk about celebrations in Asian cultures
- identify similarities and differences between our own families and families from other (Asian) cultures.
History:
- be able to look at old fashioned forms images and notice what is different in modern day equivalents.
Science:
- Understand some important processes and changes in the natural world around them, including the seasons and changing states of matter.
In this unit we go on a voyage of discovery of our world. Getting a sense of where we are, we explore the countries and cultures of Asia and how they compare with our own. We explore dancing, music, foods and flavours as well as art and celebrations in Asian cultures.
