Project 4: Let them eat veggies

  • Despite plentiful farmlands, Carbon County is a food desert
  • Lack of transit prevents families from accessing fresh food
  • Healthy, locally grown, produce is needed to sustain our citizens and provide for a healthy lifestyle for our children
  • Emphasize the need for farmland preservation and sustainable farming education

    • Increase transparency, provide information, coordinate to create synergy of events
  • Enhance trail use through interactive QR codes to feature history, art, and local business
  • Collaborate with county and municipal governments for updated ordinances that require ecological and business sustaining practices
  • Partner with Unions to encourage apprenticeship programs, keeping young talent from fleeing the area
  • Promote Home National Parks to encourage backyard gardens friendly for pollinators
  • Encourage Environmental Advisory Councils to bolster education to residents
