Event Organizer
This event is organized by Yilin Fang [Los Gatos High School 25’]
My name is Yilin Fang and I am a 9th grader (freshman) attending Log Gatos High School. Since last summer, I've been conducting rigorous research in chemistry and hope to contribute to ongoing research in developing and refining drugs in the future. Being part of our high school leadership class this year, I've worked with 12 other freshmen to organize events, including fundraisers, dances, and rallies for our grade. As Hanlin Tutoring Vice President, I've taught both private and group lessons on elementary school English. Beyond tutoring, I have created a number of bonding activities for our students, including contests and shows. Having done almost three years of Speech and Debate, I've honed my writing and public speaking skills. Tennis is also a hobby I enjoy and I played number three singles on our school tennis team this year. Despite my busy schedule, I ensure that I leave a few hours for my family over the weekends, from hiking at Vasona to playing catch with my dog. When my siblings aren’t busy, we love to hang out together. Other times, I read manga, watch anime, and enjoy k-drama.

Cathy Yung
Cathy Yung is a classical violinist by trade. She began studying the violin at the age of 6 with Ms. Kwok-Ping Koo. In her youth, she played in orchestras such as PACO, ECYS, and CYS. Post high school, she received a scholarship to continue studying violin at the University of California, Irvine with Prof. Haroutune Bedelian. In 2010, she graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance and continued her career as a violin teacher. Her passion for teaching grew from being a violin teacher and led her to pursue other opportunities to work in the K-12 and university education systems.
