Healthy Steps For Responding To Conflict

Step 1: Manage Your Emotions

When you are calm, you are able to listen and problem-solve. Try a coping strategy like taking a breath, going on a walk, or counting.

Step 4: Get Help When You Need It

Talk to an adult an adult you trust if someone is bullying you.

Step 3: Communicate Respectfully

Pick your battles. Talk about yourself and not others. Offer a solution. It’s ok to agree to disagree.

Step 2: Show You’re Listening

Look at the person speaking by giving eye contact. Listen with curiosity and intention. Keep your body calm and relaxed.
