How do I do this?

In 5 easy steps!

Obtain link to online verification form and VTCC Recruiting Information from “Resources” on vtcc.vt.edu
Obtain your Organizational Contact’s email (if you don’t know it, try your high school’s website)
Set up a time to meet in person!
Brief the STUDENTS/SCOUTS/CADETS with your company-prepared presentation
Have interested students complete the information survey for your company online (we are focusing mostly on HS Juniors this year)

Click on “Verification of Hometown Recruiting Form”

Complete the form YOURSELF!

This is where you will be submitting a PHOTO of yourself at your info session! This can be a group photo, selfie, funny poses, etc. Get creative!

In an email to your Guidance Counselor/Scout Leader/JROTC Instructor:

Greeting - remind them of who you are and where you went to college
Ask to schedule a time to meet in person with students/members of your desired organization!

Set Up your Corps information Meeting

You will use the Corps presentation that your Company Recruiting Representative has created to represent your Company (next slide) The UOD will be White Shirt or Summer/Winter Dress B.

Or, highly encouraged, copy the slides from your Company, and then update and include your own Corps pictures from this fall. Be sure to cover your experience and why you chose VTCC and what has been the best part of it so far.

Ask interested students to complete the online information request for your company! (This is where you compete for the individual awards!)

Hometown Recruiting FAQ

Q: Can I give more than one brief?

A: YES! This counts toward your company’s gold cord points and you submit a survey w/selfie for each brief

Q: Can I work with others?

A: Yes, but…everyone needs to submit their own confirmation survey w/photo

Q: What are the hair regs for freshman over break?

A: Clean-shaven, military regs cut…not Red/White phase hair standards
