We are bringing our model to Future Ready NYC to support access to high quality/paid industry aligned work-based learning experiences.

ExpandED Schools supports Education Pathway Schools with implementing Workplace Challenges and Internships.

We find industry partners, provide facilitation materials, ensure interns are trained, and find worksites in schools and afterschool programs.

James Gantt, Field Specialist, provides in person and remote facilitation and with CPP support.

Sarah Bowen, Program Manager, works with schools in the The Bronx & Manhattan.

Johanna Burgos, Program Manager, works with schools in Queens, Brooklyn, & SI.

Education Pathway Workplace Challenge + Internship Timeline

*Students should be recruited at least 4 weeks before start date

  • Host student orientation (program expectations, payment, & CPP)
  • CPP Support: Create experience and assign to students, approve stipends and track payroll periods, and provide CPP support + guidance (virtual office hours
  • Secure internship sites and serve as liaison between site supervisor, students, and school
  • Prepare students for successful experience: schedule site visit, orientation, and training (if needed)
  • Prepare host sites: provide overview & expectations, CPP guidance, check-in and evaluations
  • CPP Support: Create experience and assign students, support I-9 verification needs, create host site accounts, and approve timesheets
