Did You Know…

Thanks to your support and participation in our fundraising efforts, the PTA is able to provide full or partial funding for a variety of valuable student opportunities and classroom resources, including:

  • Assemblies & Educational Classroom Visit
  • Field Trips
  • Field Day or Bridge T-Shirts for students (Grades K–5)
  • Books for Every Student (K–5) to celebrate Read Across America Day
  • Stipends for principals, teachers, counselors, nurses, etc.

Memberships and support directly benefit the students, teachers, and schools we all care about. We get it—life is busy, and not everyone can volunteer during the school day. That’s okay! Being a PTA member is about more than volunteering. It’s about:

Memberships and Clearances

  • Memberships are renewed annually — for example, sign-ups for the 2026–2027 school year will open in August.
  • To participate in volunteer activities such as class parties, Field Day, the Book Fair, field trips, and more, you must have current clearances on file.
  • If you haven’t yet joined the PTA and would like to, visit www.AvonworthPTA.com or scan the QR code below to register.
  • These below clearances are required and are valid for 5 years:
    • Act 34 – Criminal Record
    • Act 151 – PA Child Abuse History
    • Act 114 – Federal FBI Fingerprinting
  • Always retain a copy of each clearance for your records - these can be found on the PTA website as well.

Clearances

  • On October 30, you should have received an email from the district about the new volunteer system, Raptor, which has replaced TMX. Please note that the PTA does not have access to this system — we register just like everyone else.
  • To sign up, visit the link below. You’ll be asked to “apply,” select your schools and areas of interest, and upload your clearances. 👉 Raptor Volunteer Application
  • After you submit your application, it will go through a review and approval process. Within a few days, you’ll receive a follow-up email with your portal login information. For any questions about your application or portal access, please reach out to your school’s administrator.
  • For in-school events (like class parties, making copies, etc.), be sure to wear your volunteer badge or bring a valid photo ID.

PTA Communications & Newsletter

  • We often hear both: “There’s too much communication” and “There’s not enough.”
  • We recognize that what feels like a lot for one person may not be enough for another.

​

  • The PTA website was updated to be a one-stop resource:
    • Includes links back to Primary & Elementary District Pages
    • “Helpful Links” tab features menus, rotation calendars, and other hard-to-find info�
  • A newsletter was created last month but held to avoid overwhelming families (wasn’t sent, example on next slide).�
  • Distribution options:
    • PTA Members only: Sent directly via email (as I only have access to PTA Member email addresses
      • Could also post on Facebook/Instagram to direct families to the PTA website for non PTA members to view newsletter
    • All APC/AES Families: Would require school administrators to send out

Book Fair

AES Fall Fair was very successful!

  • Over $13K in sales which equals over $3,000 profit for the AES library
  • $90.83 spent on books for students with Share the Fair donations and PTA sponsored funds
  • Thank You Parent Volunteers!!

Upcoming fair dates & details:

  • Partnering with Hi Neighbor to bring back our December pop-up book fair at APC, will be a one night only event - Thursday, December 4th
  • Spring Fair at APC (Literati) - March 9-20
  • Grand friends Mini Fair Event at AES - May 12-14

  • Spirit Wear!!! Sale ends on 11/17 – Orders will be ready for pickup by 12/11
  • Givebacks: New initiative and free to sign-up. Register and link your credit card – when you make a purchase at a participating restaurant or store, as long as you selected Avonworth Primary Center and Elementary School PTA (look for our logo) than a portion of that sale comes back to the PTA!
  • Minted: Use code FUNDRAISEAVONWORTH for 20% off; PTA receives 15% donation

Kindness Committee

  • 13 children receiving Blessings in a Backpack
  • Increased to 2 bags a week while SNAP benefits are paused
  • Supplied 30 families district wide with Thanksgiving food bags
  • Stocked the AES Jam Pantry
  • Received over $5K in donations within the last month
  • Total funds around $9K.
  • Providing high quality, healthy items.
  • BIB standard is 8 items/bag. We provide 12-14.
  • Will provide additional items around the holiday breaks

  • It's that time of year again! The Kid's Winter Shop will be here before we know it! And we need YOUR help.
