Who are we?

A group of educators from the West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District working together to provide parents and students new to the district with information and support to assist with a smooth and successful transition to our diverse school community.

The mission of the West Windsor-Plainsboro New Parent Link is to introduce, inform, and include new families in our tradition of excellence in order to support and promote student achievement and encourage self discovery within our diverse school community.

History

West Windsor-Plainsboro Regional School District has grown from a small homogenous farm community to a diverse and desirable suburban area with many large corporations and easy access to both Philadelphia and New York.

Today the WW-P community is comprised of diverse families who speak approximately 75 different languages.

WW-P is the only school district in the state of New Jersey located in two counties: Mercer and Middlesex.

District Strategic Goals

Goal 1 Understanding that all students have diverse needs, backgrounds, and approaches to learning, we will integrate tools and structures to appropriately challenge and enable students to realize their full potential.

The West Windsor‐Plainsboro Regional School District continues to grow. As a result, the district has developed short and long term plans for managing larger facilities projects, current capacity concerns and expected enrollment growth due to new housing. More information of these projects can be found on the district website.

Security

Our district wide security program that maintains a guard at each main entrance.�

To ensure safety, visitors must enter and sign in at the main entrance of each building and follow the individual school’s procedures. No visitors will be permitted to the building during COVID-19 Precautions unless scheduled.

As part of the program, all visitors are required to present identification every time you enter the building.

Please be sure that your emergency information is up to date in Genesis. If your email address or contact information should change during the course of the year, we ask that you update your information in Genesis. District staff is unable to update personal information.

Genesis - Accessing the

2020-2021 schedule

The district requires families to complete several online forms in order to receive class placement/schedules.

Please be sure to create and log into your Genesis account and complete all required forms in order to gain access to your child’s schedule.

If you child is absent:

  • Genesis is our preferred method to report absences or tardies, however, an automated phone system is available if needed
  • Each school has its own Tel-Safe number
  • Call the Tel-Safe answering machine to leave a message prior to the start of the school day of the absence or tardy

  • Bus passes will be available on Genesis for all students.
  • Any changes in your child’s daily bus routine needs to go through transportation, not the bus driver.
  • There are late bus runs for grades 6 – 12 for students who stay after school for clubs, activities, homework help and sports.There will be no late buses during COVID-19 response.
  • Transportation updates regarding delays are sent out via text (if opted-in to SchoolMessenger). Please check the “About Us” tab on the district website, www.ww-p.org, and choose “Communications” for specific details

Our district offers a wide variety of services to our students focused on their social and emotional well being. Information for building specific counselors can be found on your individual school's website. Also, please explore the district's Wellness website; it contains information and resources for you and your family that is helpful during your new transition in to our district.

Keeping Informed

WW-P has created a process to decrease the amount of emails received by parents and guardians from the school district.

Each school sends out one newsletter-style email including all PTA/PTSA, school, and districtwide news on a weekly basis. All 10 newsletters are published on the website each week.
