Our annual expenses average $200,000. Our income is about $200,000. (Yep, we generally about break even.)
Our costs are year-round and are 100% covered by dues
BUDGET/FINANCES
7
In addition to our monthly expenses this year has already seen inflation-related cost increases for utilities, chemicals, vendor services, as well as employee costs (lifeguards, etc.)
Dewing is over 50 years old, so we also incur unplanned repairs. This year we’ve
already had to spend $3K on the pool
heater and pump and $5K on decking repairs.
8
Happens…
We had a big year in 2025:
9
…but so do improvements!
On Deck for 2026:
Our Remodel Committee collected bids from several paving and concrete
companies. This is a giant project but sorely needed.
We are planning to startwork this fall. Stay tuned for updates.
(Thanks to Brandon De Young for the paver renderings.)
10
Discretionary spending is important to keep our pool functional and adds value to member experience
11
Good News!
12
Current membership revenue is not always enough to support our expenses
For major projects like the deck we need loans, which require an assessment on top of annual dues
13
Bad News?
Membership Cap
We are allowed 250 memberships. Last season we had almost 250 memberships.
Because of this we are switching to an automatic renewal system. This allows us to know how many available memberships we have for new members and manage a wait list if necessary.
14
Dues Autopay
Any member who has not paid or we have not been able to reach by March 15 is considered a member not in good standing, and per our by laws we will not be able to guarantee continued membership.
15
2026 OPERATIONS
16
It’s our community, let’s support each other!
Reminders about rules and member responsibilities
As always safety is our priority
We are required to follow all county health guidelines and we rely on our members to exercise personal responsibility and use good judgement
Key Fobs!
We have switched from keys to a key fob system. Each member will be designated a fob, which is registered in our system.
This will allow allow us to monitor access, lock and unlock access remotely, and close the pool in cases of chemical imbalances or power outages.
17
18
We aim to have guards afternoons daily June thru mid-August and will update hours on our Calendar
We follow the American Red Cross best practices for surveillance: guards break for 15-min every 45 mins. During guard breaks all minors must exit the pool, no exceptions.

AED
Dewing Park owns and manages an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). This device is located in the entrance to the girls’ locker room. Our lifeguards are trained in the use of AEDs, but in the absence of guards and in a cardiac emergency this device will walk anyone through lifesaving treatment.
