Common Questions

    • What Associate’s degree?
      • AA in General Studies because it is the most versatile. Students that are more math/science focused, take more math/science, those with a focus in liberal arts take more liberal arts.
      • Classes taken at ECHS are all part of the Dual Credit program where students earn high school & college credit at the same time.
    • Do the credits transfer?
      • Yes! ACC classes are guaranteed to transfer to any Texas state public university ... also the most likely to transfer to any university. 95% of universities require English Comp, US History, US Government, science, math etc.
    • Are students concerned transfer students upon graduation?
      • NO! All classes are taken in high school, so students will apply as first-time freshman. (Very important to be evaluated/compared to other high school students.) BUT after graduation, students can elect to stay at ACC to take additional classes.
    • Automatic/Assured Admissions-
      • Yes! ECHS does have the same ranking/GPA as other LISD schools....with one exception, ACC classes DO count in the weighted scale (6pt class.)
    • Fees?
      • All classes, books, & fees are taken care of during the school year! (Summer classes- tuition is covered, but there may be books needed.)
    • UIL
      • ECHS does not have organized UIL sports, band, theater, etc. We do have sports, performing arts, and music club during the day. We also have a lot of students to do club sports, community theater, etc.
    • Is ECHS a sub campus program?
      • No. All high school and ACC classes are on the ECHS/ACC-San Gabriel Campus.
    • Does ECHS accept transfers? Any qualifications to apply?
      • ECHS can accept any student for 9th grade. 10th grade student if they take and pass the TSI (ELAR), pending space available in cohort.
