Identify the problem

    • People face a major problem, which is the lake of knowledge about what happens in space. Many countries, especially developmental countries, don't care about the science of space, astronomy, and astrophysics.

    • Variable stars were always interesting for astronomy enjoyers to observe, always wondering why the brightness of the very same star changes as time passes. However, most people don’t really know the reason behind the variability of these stars, and thus remain clueless about why and how they change their luminosity and brightness. Thus, it is a must to facilitate learning about variable stars and how they change their brightness and factors that affect this process for users who are interested in studying stars.

Our visualizer is a web-based program that allows the user:

    • to view and interact with the variable and Cepheid stars in the space in a user-friendly 3d environment.

    • enables the user to see the variable stars at a scaled environment, where each space unit is mapped up to represent 0.5 parsec.

    • navigate and view variable stars as their luminosity changes by observing the change in the brightness of the star in the 3d environment.

Our visualizer is a web-based program that allows the user:

    • generate a light curve for any star, which can help him to analyze the behavior of the star on the long term.

    • to change and alter the properties of the star such as the distance, radius, mass, and surface temperature.

    • Deliver to the user an experience where he can learn about how the night sky changes, especially changes that are too little or so slow to notic by the naked eye.

    • Allow the user to investigate a set of variable stars, learn about their oscillating light curves

    • control the speed at which the changes of the stars are observed, where slow changes can be noticed by speeding up the timeline of the star.

Finally, our project succeeded at delivering to the user a comprehensive experience of understanding the concept of stellar variability in a better fashion than its contemporaries of visualizers.
