The 2024 Bond election took place in January of 2024 and is our financial commitment aimed at improving our school’s athletic facilities, ensuring that students have access to a high-quality, safe, and modern stadium.   • Choral program performing in numerous community events such as Caroling throughout the city, as well as school events that included our Veterans Day ceremony.

SECOND GRADE SWIM PROGRAM

  • Second grade students at each elementary campus travel to the Natatorium once a week to take swimming lessons with a qualified swim instructor
  • Through federal funds students in need are provided swimming suits, swimming shoes and towels so that they may participate as all students do.
  • Alice ISD is serving our students by ensuring that they gain life skill of swimming.

FAMILY AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND HEALTH FAIR

  • A spring conference is held where parents can attend and hear breakout sessions on topics that are important to the success of their students.
  • This year over 265 attendees were provided with a free breakfast, free lunch and free childcare along with a great keynote speaker to speak on the importance of parent engagement.
  • As a result of the conference we are modeling the pillars of academics, leadership, character and service through local vendors and presenters.
  • Plans for next year are to bring more vendors and breakout sessions on topics parents are very interested in.

MILITARY CONNECTED STUDENTS AND FAMILIES

  • Students who have a parent who is active in a branch of military or a parent who is a former member of a military branch are identified at the beginning of each school year. Alice ISD has 125 students enrolled who are military connected.
  • The district conducts a number of activities to honor the special sacrifice these students and families make.
  • In the Spring, the district celebrates “Purple Up” day encouraging students and staff to wear purple in order to honor these students.
  • Seniors who are coded as military-connected students receive a purple and gold cord that they may wear with their graduation regalia
  • These celebrations model the district’s service to our parents who have given of themselves
  • The district will be applying to receive a Purple Star designation from TEA this Spring.

  • The district has increased the number of grants awarded by the federal and state government.
  • These grants have afforded Alice ISD the opportunity to provide high quality instructional materials, quality staff development and supplemental highly qualified staff.
  • The district has received over $10,496,471 in federal funds just this year
  • The district continues to seek out grants that will benefit our students and district.

SUPPORT FOR EMERGENT BILINGUAL STUDENTS

  • Alice ISD has approximately 118 students who are coded as Emergent Bilingual.
  • With the addition of the Summit K-12 English proficiency program, these students are provided with an added resource to help build their English proficiency skills
  • The program helps build student confidence in reading, writing, listening, speaking and thinking. Parents also are given an opportunity to work with their students to build their confidence as well through at home family licenses.
  • Students at Alice ISD are experiencing growth in their English language proficiency skills
  • In addition 100% of EB seniors received their CCMR point by January of 2025.
  • This year Alice ISD hopes to increase English proficiency growth even more and be a model district for EB students.
