Silver Laptop

ERD

First week of April

​

    • All silver laptops will be removed from carts and ERD.
    • Carts will remain in the rooms. We will not be removing the carts. They need to stay in the event we receive technology in the future. We do not have any information on future tech purchases.
    • We will come to your classroom to complete this process.
    • We will ask for the key to the cart when we come to ERD laptops. Please have it available.

Classroom Technology ERD

Second Week of April

    • Any and all classroom equipment you no longer want can be returned to the library.
    • VCR, document camera, projectors (if any are still hidden somewhere), monitors, etc.
    • This will be your one and only chance to get this out of your room because we will be in our ERD process.

What Do we Do when Students do not have their Chromebook?

Short answer: paper copies must be available.

For testing, we will continue to provide carts to the testing office for students who do not have their Chromebooks.

​

For NC Check-In and similar tests, we will check out a cart of Chromebooks to the teacher. We will need to establish a process for this so we can avoid not having enough on any given day.

DVD and Audio Book Weeding

  • Audio books are not being used and haven’t in a long time, so those will be weeded unless someone requests we keep specific ones.
  • VHS tapes: Another relic. We are not circulating those either, so they will be weeded.
  • DVDs: Very few are being used. Please share the list of DVDs with your department and let us know the ones you want to keep.

We have begun the task of making research mini-lessons. Research is a key skill that students are lacking once they leave high school, so we are pushing to incorporate more inquiry-based skills
