What is Degreeworks and how do I use it?

On the FSC Homepage

  • Degreeworks is a tool that shows you all the classes you have and the ones you still need for your current major. It shows you progress toward your degree!
  • Degreeworks also shows you what classes count in various General Education categories! It’s very useful to reference when looking at courses.
  • After you register for your classes, check your Degreeworks! Is everything counting where you thought it would? Is there anything in “fall through”?

Look HERE!

  • Do you have any “holds” that will prevent you from registering? Degreeworks shows you this at the top of the page. Look early to clear those up!

Let’s look at Degreeworks and see an example…

Degreeworks has a “what if” function where you can see what you need if you were in another major. This is helpful if you are aiming to change majors. Where would courses overlap for you?

When it’s time, you can also file your “Intent to Graduate” form right on Degreeworks! Woo-hoo!

  • If your GPA is under a 2.0 as a first semester freshman, you will be on “Academic Warning.”
  • If this happens, you may need to adjust your courses for the Spring semester so be sure to reach out to your advisor for help!
  • Academic Warning status for the second semester requires that you meet with AAIC three times that semester. See their website and make an appointment where it says “Academic Warning”.
  • Academic Warning means there will be a hold on your account. You can’t register unless you follow the AAIC rules for Academic Warning meetings.
