Google Classroom

  • Chromebooks are utilized daily during all subject areas.

  • We will take care of getting any missing work online completed during the school day.

Balancing CW with Home Life

  • We understand that students are involved in sports and other extracurricular activities.
  • Please make education a priority.
  • GENESIS Parent Portal is ALWAYS available.
  • You’re the parent, you know when enough is enough if children are struggling with HW.
  • We are extremely flexible, as long as there is communication and not a constant behavior of incomplete work.

Please expect at minimum the following each MP from ALL Subject Areas:

  • 2 MAJOR (Tests, reports, essays, etc.)
  • 4 MINOR (Quiz, Labs, Journals, etc.)
  • 6 SUPPORTIVE (CW, HW, Checks, Exit Tickets, etc)

We will send notice and reminders on REMIND 101 before any MAJOR assignment takes place.

Homework (Classwork)

  • Homework Packets come home Monday and are DUE on Friday.

  • AGENDA BOOKS will have reminders daily as well as REMIND 101.

  • Students are given extra time, if needed.

  • Students can make corrections to classwork at ANY time.

  • Encourage students to ask for help.

    • Contains Agenda Book & HW Folder
    • “Return”: Items need to come back when completed.
    • “Keep”: Graded work or office letters that can stay home.
    • Binder should come home EVERY night and return the next day.

Inclusion

•Inclusion in the classroom is meant to help those students needing help who generally have an IEP.

•This is done in a way where it is not apparent which students in the classroom need assistance.

•This is achieved by helping all the students in the class.

•Constantly collaborating with teachers on ways to implement engaging lessons or tweak lessons for students’ success and understanding of information.

• Our goal is to work as close as possible with you and your child to ensure growth academically and personally. To demonstrate growth as a student and person.

Interventions

Designed to help students who are struggling to improve a specific skill.

Targeted instruction is given for a determined amount of time to help students focus on strategies to improve a skill.

Use of evidence-based strategies, techniques, and programs.

Programs: Response to Intervention (RtI), iReady, and multi-tiered system of supports (MTSS).

Targeted Assessments are given periodically to measure the development and growth of a child.

Data is collected to monitor and track growth and to determine students’ future instructional needs.
