[2nd GRADe] This week we focused on...

Daily 5: The class continued reading different biographies and everyone was so fascinated with the various accomplishments of these famous people. Then we ended the week with Gail Gibbons’s Non-Fiction books.

Writing: The 2nd Graders continued to work on their teaching books. The students used a checklist to review what they already have and what they need to add. Later in the week, the class started to make edits with colored pens. Finally, the class started new teaching books.

Theme: This week the 2nd Graders started a new unit on Sun, Moon, and Stars. The students learned what the cardinal directions are and where the sun sets and rises. Lastly, the students learned about the amount of daylight for each season.

PBIS: Ms. Jensen visited our class and discussed what empathy means. She read We’re All Wonders and reviewed what it means to “put yourself in someone else’s shoes.”

This week’s 2nd Grade Math Homework was pages 117-118 and 119-120. No Math Homework this weekend.
