Testimonial

“I am extremely delighted to have my website appear on Arizona Faculty Sites. The combination of a clean, professional appearance, the flexibility and possibilities for creative website design, the linked presentation of my personal accomplishments with the outward-facing institutional identity of the University of Arizona, and (at the same time) the ease of learning how to use the provided website design tools — all of these make for an impressive presence on the web.”

Limitations/Not Suitable for:

  • High-profile/high-impact sites that might require capabilities to handle large amounts of traffic.
  • If a faculty member’s website requires restricted access requiring limited NetID login, Sharepoint sites are their best option.
  • Complex sites with large amounts of data would be better served through one of the many other web offerings on campus. See https://web.arizona.edu/ for more information.
  • Students, as they have Google Sites available to them.
  • Using website as a Learning Management System (LMS). D2L is the recommended solution.

10 of 13

Site url:

Configure your site with the site name of your choice following the sites.arizona.edu/ pattern. The default site name will be the NetID of the site owner, but any other site name can be requested with the following exceptions:

    • It must not already be claimed by another Arizona Faculty Site
    • It must not be any other valid NetID. To avoid collisions with current or future NetID’s, all site names that don’t use the owners NetID must include a dash “-” somewhere in the name. Here are some examples:
      • sites.arizona.edu/firstname-lastname
      • sites.arizona.edu/name-lab
    • It must not violate the University of Arizona’s “Acceptable Use of Computers and Networks Policy”.
