Why join the SWE board?

  • NOTE: The first task that new board members will do is help plan our annual SWE banquet in early June with the current board members! :)

How will Elections take place?

  • This will be a Cascading Election!
    • Take a look at SWE officer’s description and roles/responsibilities.
    • Choose upon 3 roles of interest with an order of preference.
    • Fill out the application form Friday, April 15th at 11:59 p.m.
      • You will then be scheduled to 15-30 min interview by 1-3 officers before your name gets on the ballot. Interviews will be done during the week of April 22nd.
    • Wait for a confirmation email from UCD SWE. Voting will be held via Ballot Google form! Results will be declared once voting period ends!

What is a Cascading Election?

  • YOU are elected based on your order of preference and number of votes you get for each roll.
  • Let’s take an example:
    • If a candidate chooses X, Y, Z
      • If they get the highest votes among all candidates for their first preference, X, they will elected as X and automatically disqualified from Y and Z.
      • If they are NOT elected for X, the next selected role that gets the highest votes is the candidate’s final role (either Y or Z).
