Teaser trailers.

DIscuss how a teaser trailer would be audience tested to stir up word of mouth.

Name examples of films that you may wish to screen your teasers before.

How would you drum up digital interest? (youtube etc)

On this slide, ensure that you have an actual date of release. Think carefully about key dates in the audiences diary. Valentines, Easter, Summer hols, Xmas.

Discuss how during this time the company behind the film launch a website for your film.

Name elements that might be included as part of the site.

You may possibly talk about how the site will be continually updated in the run up to the release of the film — what could the site offer for asking the audience to constantly check in?

Full trailers and posters.

DIscuss how with 6 months to go there would be full theatrical trailer and posters in cinemas, bus stops, hoarding etc.

What information might be included on these and why?

hint - include iconography, narrative, character(s) and theme. Also include USP, date, company etc etc

TV Spots, QR codes, chat shows.

Discuss how the marketing machine is really hotting up. Stars and directors will be appearing on chat shows and radio. The site will be offering more extra material, QR codes might appear on posters, flyers and in magazine advertisements.

Hype machine goes into overdrive!

Stars will be attending press junkets where journalists, entertainment reporters and movie critics are flown out to a special location for a day or weekend of interviews with the stars and creators of the film. The actors, directors and screenwriters sit in separate rooms and the reporters are brought in one by one to ask their questions.

Stars and the media will also be attending preview screenings prior to the national release date.
