In Germany, the Chambers of Commerce are “competent bodies” by law for the Dual Vocational Educational Training (VET) Program or Apprenticeship System (per VET act from 1969/2005). They are responsible for:

  • Organization, registration, examination, certification

  • Quality assurance throughout the �whole training process

  • Representing and organizing the

companies‘ needs, interests and input – �in cooperation with business associations

Apprentices are Students

  • Apprentices are students - their primary responsibility while performing Work Based Learning is to develop the required skills to complete the apprenticeship test.
  • Students enroll through the GCCA. The GCCA will track student progress through the program.
  • Companies will adhere to the Work-Based Learning guidelines as established by the GCCA.
  • Companies will provide evaluations per GCCA criteria.
  • Apprentices must have an average of 70% hands on time at the College and/or the company over the course of the program.
