Dear Teachers,

You’ve told us many times that you’d like to know what stories, articles, and videos we have in the works so that you can plan ahead for the school year. That’s why I’m so excited to share this sneak peek with you!

On the following slides, you’ll find what’s new, what stories and resources to expect in the upcoming issues of Storyworks, and our theme and skills collections.

As always, our team is standing by to support you in any way we can. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to me any time at: apotenza@scholastic.com.

Warmly,

Alessandra Potenza, Editor, Editorial and Digital Strategy

& the whole Storyworks team

What’s New?

  • More Cross-Curricular Connections More and more of our stories and videos will provide opportunities for meaningful connections to your social studies and science units.
  • Paragraph Power This easy-to-follow activity sheet will accompany our mini reads to support reading comprehension and provide consistent writing practice.
  • Grammar Scavenger Hunt
    • Grammar Bot no longer appears in each issue. Instead, an interactive Grammar Scavenger Hunt activity will guide students to find and analyze the featured grammar skill used in authentic contexts throughout the whole issue.
    • Prior Grammar Bot features are still available online at Storyworks Digital.
  • Root Power! We debuted this new feature last school year, and we’re happy to report it is now a permanent feature! Each Root Power! explores words with one Greek or Latin root through a short graphic-novel style story.
