Archive - Clean up Inbox

This removes email from your Inbox, but can be easily accessed under All Mail or by Searching

FYI�Will pop back into Inbox if it’s replied too.

Snooze - Save for Later

This moves email from your Inbox to a Snoozed label, it will return to the top of your Inbox at the time you set when you Snooze.

FYI �Can be “unsnoozed”

Mute - Ignore

This will turn off any future notifications on an email thread. While you can search for it, it will not pop up in your Inbox for any reason.

Creating Labels

Create a label from your Inbox

  • With the email open or selected, click Labels
    • Apply a label or Create New
    • Nested Labels can also be created

Create a label from Settings

  • In Settings, navigate to the Labels tab
  • Under Label, click Create new Label

  • Use the checkboxes to select emails
  • Click Labels

  • In the Labels menu on the left, click next to a label
  • Choose a preset color, or create a custom color combination

Creating Filters

  • In the search box at the top, click the Down arrow.
  • Enter your search criteria.
  • At the bottom of the search window, click Create filter.
  • Select the Send template box and choose a template.
  • Click Create filter.

Creating and Sending Email

  1. Open Gmail
  2. Click Compose
  3. Option to adjust window size
  4. Add recipients and a subject
  5. Compose your message
  6. Add attachments, link to Drive, insert images or add embedded links
  7. Send!

Tip & Tricks

Clicking the X will “Save and Close,” the Trash Can will delete. Find unfinished emails on the left side under Drafts.

Template Emails

  • In Gmail, click Compose.
  • In the Compose window, create your template email.
  • Click More Templates > Save draft as template > Save as new template.
  • The email Subject will become the name of the Template, adjust and click Save.

To send, Compose a new email, Click More Templates > Select your template. Adjust template as needed, add recipients and send!

Create a Task or Event from Inbox

  • With an email open, click to add the email to Tasks.
    • Set a due date to remind you to come back to the email later
  • With an email open, click ⠇(next to Labels)
    • Create Event will open Calendar and create an event with the body of the email in the event details
    • Anyone in To: or CC: will automatically be added as guests to the event.

Tip & Tricks

Creating an event from an email is a great way to block off time for larger tasks.
