WRBA Special Projects

Shawano County Historical Society

  • Built a roof over the entrance to the Archives Building.
  • Painted the Judges Stand
  • Built a new porch for the Kast Building.
  • Future - looking at reroof, “oil building” this spring.

Red River Riders

  • Red River Riders helps people with disabilities regardless of age. They currently serve 60+ riders and serve riders with hearing impairment, autism, cerebral palsy, and cognitive disabilities, as well as many other disabilities. WRBA built a platform/steps for the organization.

Habitat for Humanity

  • For the last four years, the Wolf River Habitat for Humanity received the door take at the Home Show for a total of $7,898. Always a win win situation!

Food Pantry

  • WRBA members assisted in remodeling the Shawano Area Food Center, and donated $1250 to the organization.
  • SAFPARC (Shawano Area Food Pantry) currently receives canned goods from the admission to the home show. This year’s total was 2120 lbs. in conjunction with the Canstruction* donation.

Shawano School District

  • Donated a flag pole at the middle school to use for track events.
  • Contributed to the SCHS Trades Program for updating their curriculum.

Scholarship Program

  • Every year we hold a raffle that helps us to raise money for up to three $500 scholarships to students continuing their education in some aspect of the building trades. Since 2007, WRBA has given out $10,000 in scholarship monies.

Shawano Hockey League

Built locker bases for the Shawano Area Youth Hockey League.

Other Projects

  • Christmas Crusade Program - $2,750 donated in the last five years.
  • Building repairs made to the Youth League Athletic Park.
  • Phone Cards given to Soldiers Serving overseas.
  • $500 donation to the Navarino Nature Center.
  • Purchased pigs from the Shawano County Fair, supporting the youth program.

  • Always providing our community with a top notch home show. This year vendors were up, attendance lower than last year.
