Shadow Day

at UNC Chapel Hill

Apply to Shadow Day - a chance for high school students to experience life at UNC for a day!

  • Go on a tour
  • Go to class
  • Eat in a dining hall
  • Hear from a panel of current students

Driver’s and Athletic Eligibility

Students can only remain eligible to play if they:

  • Passed 6 out of 8 classes during the previous semester of their sport(s)
  • Attended school at least 85% of the days during the past semester
  • Have a minimum 1.5 GPA

Students must pass 6 out of 8 courses to obtain and maintain a driver’s license.

Requirement Before 12th Grade

  • North Carolina law now requires ALL rising 12th graders get a meningococcal vaccine (MCV) booster before starting 12th grade.

  • Parents/Guardians need to provide a copy of their child’s immunization record showing proof of the MCV vaccine before the first day of school in August.
