Division A Overview

REASONS FOR CONCERNS:

Division A has struggled with maintaining or growing club membership numbers. Likely reasons are:

  • Quite a few clubs have a significant number of members who are in multiple clubs. Burn out is high.
  • The impact of COVID
  • Clubs who wish to remain on-line only and are insular

Division A Overview cont.

  • Rising cost of Toastmasters’ dues has diminished member numbers especially for those in multiple clubs.
  • Division A is losing two clubs, EAT – Area 11 and Technical Talkers – Area 13. There is a possibility that South County Communicators - Area 13 will also fold. Beyond Storytelling is also struggling with membership and member burnout.

REASONS TO HOPE:

  • Redistricting will bring in some stronger clubs
  • U Converse Masterfully is working hard to grow its numbers and members want to see it succeed
  • TSA has a robust membership which won’t impact for this year but will be a strong club for next year
  • There is still time to build club memberships and the Area Directors are working on that with their clubs!
