History

Confucianism is one of the most influential philosophies in China. The creator Confucius born on September 28 was a philosopher that believed in good attitude and moral written down by the disciples in there books

Name of god

  • Chengzai saw five men representing planets and a unicorn saying “You will give birth to a god”.
  • Chengzai gave birth on rocks it is said to dragons were the guards. The gods name was Confucius.
  • Confucianism doesn't have a god. Confucius is worshiped as a spirit not a god

Founders,Prophets, and Leaders

Chinese historians said that once Confucius died his followers went out to teach about his life to compete with other philosophers. They made schools to teach about this religion.

Worship Buildings

Believers like to worship in temples. The temples had carvings of animals that they would sacrifice for Confucius.

A place of worship is also someone’s house who is a believer and has a special room.

  • People say that Confucianism is a belief system from ancient china that helped lay the foundation for Chinese culture
  • Confucianism believes that having human centered virtues for living a peaceful life and ancestor worship
  • Confucius believed that everyone's deserved a good education so it can make a better Virtuous character

  • Rituals were supposed to bring out a respectful attitude and create a sense of community within a group

They wear red because in chinese culture people wear red on special events

Confucianism has a golden rule that is the same as us “Do not do unto others what you would not want others to do unto you.”

They believe in a lot of human centered virtues so that they can live a peaceful life

  • Shu Ching- Classic of History, speeches and documents in the Zhou period.
  • Shih Ching-Classic of Poetry, 305 poems that are broken up into folk songs
  • Li Ching- Classic of Rights, describes prehistoric rights and social forms
  • I Ching- Classic of Changes, a book that compares other religions
  • Ch’un Ching- Spring and Autumn Annals, about where Confucius was born

Holidays

A celebration that they celebrate is the Chinese new year. It is a is a festival celebration that lasts multiple days and starts on on January 31.

They also celebrate Ching Ming ths is on 15th day of the spring equinox. It is also known as tomb sweeping day. Where the people bare gifts at the graves of their ancestors and also sweep them, then giving it its name.

Important symbols

Yin and Yang- The dots represent interactions

and the halves represent peace.

Water- Water is one of the Five Symbols wood, metal,

fire, earth, and water. Water is said to be the most important

for living.

Confucius- This symbol is used in temples to

represent Confucius.

Comparison

  • We believe in one God almighty and the believe Confucius is the only god.
  • Both are God and Confusion were teachers.
  • We both have virtues but Confucianism have five (Behaviour, Charity, Integrity, Honesty, and Family Devotion).
  • They have nine holy books when we have one big one.
  • After Confucius died his disciples carried out his beliefs
