About Change Through Traveling
Our proposal is a business model where the traveler’s desire for rich experiences helps to directly fund local development, socially and economically responsible tourism.
Our initiative will develop travel programs in selected locations, where part of the sales profit will be directed to the communities, improving their wellbeing.
Guests will choose a travel savings plan, where various levels will allow them to travel once a year with different comfort options and items included in the trip.
With the decrease in job security, buying power has diminished. However, the desire to travel and experience the world has grown in response to increased travel restrictions and pandemic lockdowns.
Our product is a perfect compromise of creating safe tour itineraries, regarding health, hygiene, and sustainability while empowering local communities to best represent themselves to a wider stage.

Kalunga Quilombola Community
Quilombola or Quilombos are communities where, in the past, slaves would take refuge when scaping.
Kalunga Quilombola Community is inside the Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The National Park is one of the brightest spots on the planet with a lot of nature, waterfalls and wild animals.
The park covers more than 230 thousand hectares and, still today, around 5.000 slaves descendants still live in one of the largest remnants quilombola communities in Brazil.
On their day-by-day, Kalunga people dedicate their time to plant yuca, rice, tobacco, corn, and, sometimes, beans. They raise cattle, birds, hunt, and fish. The production of yuca flour involves the whole family and is considered a ritual as it is one of the most important production activities.
Visiting a community that shares stories from the time of slavery is a very differentiated kind of tourism.
