Raise $1,000 in One Week

The 5-Day Challenge | 30-Minutes a Day

Federal funding for victim services has been significantly reduced, but survivors still need somewhere to turn. The 100 Community Champions Campaign empowers people who already believe in our mission to invite their own networks to invest in keeping lifesaving services available.

Your Goal: Raise $1,000 in five days. 100 Champions means $100,000 to sustain our life-changing impact in just one week!

1

Day 1: Lead by Example

Make a gift that is personally meaningful to you. Then call one friend and tell them why you care about ECLI-VIBES. Ask them to consider a $500 gift.

This is how you start building a real relationship around this cause. When you pick up the phone and share what moves you about ECLI-VIBES, that personal connection is worth more than any email blast. People give to people they trust, and that trust starts with you being willing to go first.

2

Day 2: Write 5 Personal Letters

Write 5 personal letters (or emails) asking for a $100 gift. Use the sample email in this toolkit as a starting point, then make each one personal.

This is your chance to share your enthusiasm in your own words. Tell each person specifically why this work matters to you, not just what ECLI-VIBES does. Your energy is contagious, so let it come through on the page.

(continued)

3

Day 3: Send 10 Emails

Send 10 emails asking for a $50 gift. Cast a wider net. Think about friends, colleagues, neighbors, gym buddies, and faith community members who care about community safety.

Today is about spreading the word as far as you can. You might be surprised who responds. People in your life care about the same things you do, and many of them are looking for a way to make a difference. By sending these emails, you are giving them that opportunity. Cast a wide net and watch what happens.

4

Day 4: Go Social

Post on Facebook or Instagram and start a Facebook Fundraiser. Share why ECLI-VIBES matters to you and include your fundraising link. Tag @ecli_vibes so we can amplify your post.

Today is a great day to follow up with anyone who hasn't responded to your letters or emails earlier this week. A quick, friendly message like "Hey, just wanted to make sure you saw my note about ECLI-VIBES" can make all the difference. Most people mean to respond but life gets in the way. Your gentle nudge shows you care enough to circle back.

5

Day 5: Tap Your Professional Network

Post on LinkedIn. Share your Champion story with your professional network. Position your involvement as community leadership and invite colleagues and connections to support the mission.

Before you post, take a moment to thank every single person who gave this week. Send a personal text, email, or DM to each donor and let them know their gift made a real impact. Gratitude is the foundation of every lasting relationship in fundraising. When people feel appreciated, they give again, and they tell their friends. Finish the week the way you started it: with heart.

Keep it personal. When writing to friends, let people know why ECLI-VIBES is important to you and to your community.

Thank your donors. This is one of the most important things you do as a Champion. Let everyone who donates know what their contribution means to you and to survivors.

Follow up. Most people intend to give but get busy. A friendly nudge a few days later often makes the difference.

Tips for Writing an Effective Email

1) Start by explaining why ECLI-VIBES's mission is important to you.

2) Write with each specific person in mind. Don't stick to a formula.

3) Make a direct ask, including a link to your fundraising page.

Dear _____,

As you've heard me say before, I am a proud [volunteer/supporter/board member] with ECLI-VIBES. Today, I'm writing to invite you to join me!

ECLI-VIBES is close to my heart. They provide free, confidential services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and abuse in Suffolk County, serving thousands of people every month with counseling, legal advocacy, housing support, a 24/7 crisis hopeline, and more.

Right now, government funding for victim services has been significantly cut. But survivors still need somewhere to turn. That's why I've joined the Community Champions Campaign, and I'm raising $1,000 to help keep these lifesaving services available.

Are you ready to be part of the solution? Donate to my fundraiser today! [LINK]

Every gift, no matter the size, helps protect hope for survivors in our community.

Thank you for joining me!
