If you’d like to have a profile, complete the next few slides. If not, simply tap ‘Continue as Guest’ and move to Task 4-Whiteboard

• Customize your profile-Pin favorite apps to Menu, create shortcuts & Spinners
• Save time- log in to websites once and save your credentials

Task #1

Sign In and Using the Menu

1. Locate the Center Console

​

• Press the Power button

​

• The message ‘Hello’ will appear. Tap ‘Continue as Guest’ or if you have created an account, tap ‘Sign in’.

​

• Menu defaults to the middle. To activate Menu, press Flame button. Practice moving the menu by tapping either end to move icons.

​

Task #2

Customize the Menu

1. Press the Flame button or tap the three dots just above the word “Promethean” at the bottom of the screen

​

• Tap the Applications icon

​

• Scroll through the app pages by swiping your finger to the left

​

• Locate an app. Press and hold on that app icon and drag it into the bottom menu.

​

• To remove an app from menu, press and hold on app icon and tap ‘Keep in Menu’.

​

• Three apps can be pinned to menu.

Task #3

Creating Shortcuts in Chromium

1. Press the Flame button

​

• Tap the Applications icon

​

• Scroll through the app pages and locate Chromium

​

• Go to www.autodraw.com or a website you visit often.

​

• Locate the three vertical dots (skinny snowman) in the upper right-hand corner.

​

• Scroll down and tap ‘Add to Home Screen’

​

• Go back to the Applications and locate the shortcut. Tap and hold to move to another location.

​

1. Open the Whiteboard app
2. Begin writing writing with multiple points of touch – feel free to change color
3. Switch to selector tool – move or resize (pinch) your annotations
4. Change the background (color and/or built-in backgrounds)
5. Use the ruler to create a t-chart
6. Move to new space in infinite canvas
7. Click on the image icon to add a t-chart to your canvas (pinch to resize)
8. Write “apples” for one category and “oranges” for the other
9. Write one item on the t-chart for both categories

​

• Notice that when you write on the image, the writing sticks, but when you write outside the image, you can move the writing around.

​

• Move to a new spot on the infinite canvas

​

Task #4-Whiteboard

• Open the Applications Locker
• Select the Timer app

​

• Make sure the Timer option is selected. This app can also be a Stopwatch & Clock.

​

• Open the Locker
• Select the Spinner app. Select the preloaded CONTINENTS spinner
• Go to the Whiteboard app
• Change the background of your Whiteboard to lined paper

​

• On the Timer app, change the preset time to 1:00 by either tapping the arrow or the stopwatch icon

​

• Spin the Spinner app to select a continent. Tap the blue button in middle to spin or swipe

​

• Start your 1-minute timer and write as many words as you possibly can that relate to the continent that was landed on

​

• Count how many words you wrote and write your total on the whiteboard

Task #5-Spinner and Timer

• Open the Applications Locker
• Select the Spinner app
• Press the + symbol and select CREATE LIST

​

• Title spinner – you can make a custom spinner or your choice or input names of family members or students

​

• Enter at least 5 items into spinner. NOTE-You can select the colorful circles and change the color of each item if you wish.

​

• Customize your spinner by adding a Celebration or Sound. Change the Spin duration, toggle off/on the Display selection or Repeat selection.

​

• Select Done
• Move spinner to desired place on screen
• Spin your custom spinner by tapping blue middle button or by swiping
• Tap on the plus sign to add up to 3 more spinners to your screen
• Close spinner using the x button

Pro-Tip-You can also create spinners at one.prometheanworld.com.

Task #6-Make a Custom Spinner

• Open the Applications Locker
• Select the Spinner app
• Press the + symbol and select CREATE LIST

​

• Press Import to import a CSV file

​

• Download the sample CSV or visit https://bit.ly/prometheanspinners to download other samples. Save these to your cloud storage.

​

• Select Browse

​

​

​

7. Locate and select your file. Once imported, select Continue

8. The Spinner App will import your items. Be sure to add a title!

9. This custom Spinner will become part of your profile

Task #6B-Import a CSV file to Spinner

• Open the Applications Locker
• Select the Timer app
• Press the + icon to open additional Timers. Open up to 8.
• Tap the magnify icon to change size of app
• When using the Timer, tap the stopwatch icon to change presets times

​

• Tap the settings icon to change Settings and Styles: Add Sounds & Celebrations, Toggle on/off options & Edit presets

• Close the app by pressing the x

Task #7-Customized Timer, Stopwatch, & Clock

• Open the Applications Locker
• Select the Chromium app
• Navigate to the school district’s website or other website of your choosing.
• Open the Annotate app
• Tap the two rows of vertical dots to move Annotate toolbar to another location

​

• Tap the pen color to change thickness. Tap colorful circles to change pen color. Pro-Tip: Long press on colorful circle will allow for additional colors and color picker.
• Write on website. Tap eraser icon to erase or simply use palm to erase
• Tap trash can to clear all annotations

​

• To hide annotations, press eyeball (no slash). Scroll through page or open a new tab.
• Use highlighter to highlight text
• Press the camera icon to save annotations
• Close the Annotate app

Task #8-Annotate

Pro-Tip-: Want the Annotate toolbar to be horizontal? Simply drag to either side of the panel screen.

• Open the Applications Locker
• Select the Chromium app
• Search for a picture of the beach
• Go to the image results and tap on the beach of your choice
• Screen Capture your beach
• Crop your image by dragging the handles
• Click Done, then Open in Whiteboard
• Draw yourself on the beach
• Resize (pinch) the image so that it is smaller than full screen

Pro-Tip: After capturing an image, you can also select Quick Save to save to panel, Save as to save to cloud storage.

Multi-window feature

• Go to Applications Locker

​

• Select an app to open (Whiteboard, Chromium, etc.) and dock it to the left.
• Open another app and dock it to the right.

​

• Use your Multi-Window toolbar to minimize, move, and resize multiple apps.

Pro-Tip: Open more than one Chromium window at a time!

• Tap on the triple dots in the upper right-hand corner of your first window.

​

• Select ‘New Window’. This will open a new tab.

​

• In your new tab, go to the triple dots again, select ‘New Window’ again, and panel will open a new Chromium window.

​

• Dock one window to right and one to the left.

Task #11

Connect a Device

1. Locate the appropriate cords (HDMI & Touch or USB-C) and plug into appropriate ActivPanel ports.

​

• Plug the cord(s) into your computer ports.

​

• Tap the Source icon on the Center Console

​

• Navigate to the source. *Only live sources will appear.

​

• You will now see your computer displayed on the ActivPanel.

​

• Begin interacting with your computer by tapping the panel screen.

• open the Screen Share app on your ActivPanel to retrieve the panel ID

• enter the panel ID and your name and select ENTER WAITING ROOM

• select the people icon to enter your waiting room

• open the Promethean App
• choose I’M A TEACHER
• open the Screen Share app on your ActivPanel to retrieve the panel ID

• enter the panel ID and your name on your phone or tablet and start screen share

​

• select the people icon to enter your waiting room

​

• select the devices you want to share and tap share

​

Chromebook

• download the Screen Share Chrome extension
• open the extension
• open the Screen Share app on your ActivPanel to retrieve the panel ID

​

• enter the panel ID and your name and select ENTER WAITING ROOM

​

• select the people icon to enter your waiting room

• select the devices you want to share and tap share

Task #13

Keyboard Features

1. Press keyboard icon to go to a smaller keyboard. Alter the size of keyboard with sizing handles or go back to full screen.

• Move the keyboard with the directions grip

​

• Select the palette to choose your color theme

​

• Try Google Translate

​

• Talk into the microphone

Task #14

Recording App

1. Tap on Applications

​

• Tap on the Screen Recorder App

​

• A pop-up will appear on the screen allowing you to press record when you are ready to begin

​

• During recording:
• 3-2-1 countdown
• Screen will have a red border
• Stop recording icon will be available on the screen

​

5. When recording is complete:

• Delete (trash can)
• Play video
• Save as
• Quick save

​

Pro-Tip AP9 Premium Users: To record voice, tap settings gear to turn on microphone.

• Open Chromium and go to www.google.com or www.office.com

​

• Tap the blue sign-in button in upper right-hand corner for Google or the orange sign-in button for Office.

​

• Sign in to your account.

​

• After you sign in, you will now be able to open files from Chromium as well as the Files app.

​

​

• Locate your profile icon to the left of menu
• Tap your profile icon
• Tap ‘Lock Screen’ and begin process of creating pin

• This will allow you to step away while staying signed in.

• You can set or change your pin online by going to https://one.prometheanworld.com/. You will need to create an account. Then click on profile icon, My Account and select ‘Security’.

• Open your Applications Locker.
• Tap the Settings App
• Scroll down to ‘Display’
• Tap ‘Standby and sleep timeouts’
• Adjust to desired settings

Rename Sources

To rename a source:

1. Long press on the source
2. Tap in the Source Name box to backspace and type new name
3. Tap Save

• Open your Applications Locker.
• Tap the Settings App
• Scroll down to ‘Sound’
• Toggle off ‘Touch Sounds’

Change your wallpaper

• Open the Applications Locker.
• Select the gear icon to go to the Settings tab. Choose More Settings.
• Select Display
• Scroll down to Advanced and tap.

​

• Tap Wallpaper and Wallpapers once again.

​

• Tap My Photos to locate the image you wish to use for your new wallpaper. This could be an image saved to your panel, your Google/One Drive, or from a connected USB drive.
• Once you have chosen a new image, tap Set Wallpaper in the upper left corner

Pro Tip

• You can change your wallpaper online by going to https://one.prometheanworld.com/. You will need to create an account. Then click on profile icon, My Account, and select ‘Panel settings’.
