How to enable language interpretation
English: To access interpretation, please click on the "Interpretation" button at the bottom of the Zoom app, which has the symbol of a globe. If you don't see it, you may have to click on the three dots symbol to see additional options. Once you click on the globe, you can click on the language you would like to hear, and that will switch you to the interpreter speaking that language.
Español: Para escuchar la interpretación al español, por favor vaya al botón que dice "Interpretation" en la parte de abajo de su ventana de Zoom, que tiene el símbolo de un globo. Si no ve esa opción, puede ser que tenga que presionar el símbolo de los tres puntos para ver las opciones adicionales. Mayor’s Center for Working Families Free Services Available to Boston Residents
Free Financial Coaching�The Roxbury Center for Financial Empowerment offers one-on-one financial and employment coaching in English or Spanish. Clients make an 18-24 month commitment and meet about once a month (currently by phone or Zoom) to work on budgeting, saving, credit, obtaining a living wage job, etc. Enroll by attending an Introduction to Financial Coaching and Credit Building at https://ofe.boston.gov/events/
Free Credit Building�Coaching clients can work with a trained financial coach, attend a workshop on credit, or learn what their credit score is by getting a Financial Check-Up. For more information, visit www.BostonBuildsCredit.org

Adult Literacy Initiative�The Boston Adult Literacy Initiative is a collection of adult literacy program that provide adult learners with a wide range of services, including basic literacy classes, college preparation, and English language classes for non-native speakers. City Academy prepares trainees for jobs as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) and for jobs requiring a Commercial Driver’s License and/or Hoisting License. Learn more at boston.gov/city-academy.

The mission of the OFCA is to develop a district-wide culture of engagement and advancement, fostering and prioritizing partnerships between families, schools, the district, and our BPS community partners, with a shared understanding that each of us has an accountable role in every student’s success story, from enrollment through graduation and beyond.

Understanding MAP and MCAS, What They Tell Us About Our Child
BPS students begin taking the MAP assessment in K2 and the MCAS in Grade 3 (MAP testing is happening these weeks)!
Join the Office of Data & Accountability's Assessment Team and Parent University for a Family Info Session to learn what these tests are, why students take them, and how to use the family reports to talk with teachers during the December Parent-Teacher Conferences. Please share with anyone who might be interested, families and staff are all welcome!
