Clearance Paperwork

  • All prospective American HS student-athletes must complete their online registration and turn in their physical exam prior to participating in an athletic program.

  • You can find the AHS Athletic Registration (click on the “Register Now” button for FamilyID) under the American HS Athletics website:

  • In addition to registering on FamilyID, each student-athlete must have a current physical examination and have the physician fill out that portion in the packet. You need to upload the physical to your registration.

When Do Sports Start?

Paperwork will be submitted in Family ID prior to the 1st Day of Practice. If the Athletic Director does not have paperwork, the athlete will not be allowed to participate in any activity whatsoever.

  • Fall Sports (Family ID will open in May 2024)

Paperwork needs to be turned in/submitted by August 9th

    • Official Practice begins on August 12, 2024

  • Winter Sports

Paperwork needs to be turned in/submitted by October 25th

    • Official Practice begins on October 28, 2024

  • Spring Sports

Paperwork needs to be turned in/submitted by February 7th

    • Official Practice begins on February 10, 2024

Academic Expectations

  • Academically Eligible

    • Currently enrolled in and passing 20 units.

    • 2.0 GPA and no F’s during the previous grading period.

  • Academic Probation

    • If a student at the end of a regular grading period receives an F, Incomplete and/or a GPA of 1.50 or above but lower than 2.0, he/she will be placed on academic probation.

  • Academically Ineligible

    • GPA falls below 1.50
    • Student has 2 F’s and /or Incomplete Grades
    • Student is on Academic Probation for 2 consecutive grading periods
    • Student is not enrolled in 20 units.

  • Any student on probation or ineligible must at the end of the probationary or ineligible grading period raise his/her GPA to a 2.0 or better and must not receive any F’s in order to be eligible for the next grading period.
