Functionality:

  • To enable connection of SpaceLogic controllers to a BACnet MS/TP isolated network. Typically a network of IA Series MNB or SE8000 BACnet controllers.

  • Connect into SpaceLogic RJ45 jack with UTP cable, and provide RS-485 screwed terminal connection

  • Only required for connection of field controllers on network, not for Automation Server hosting network

  • Maximum number of devices on MS/TP network when mixture of SpaceLogic and MNB BACnet is 50

  • Use to gradually transition isolated MS/TP network to IP

  • UL-916 and plenum rated

Application 1: SpaceLogic controller on MS/TP network

  • To enable connection of SpaceLogic controllers to a BACnet MS/TP non-isolated network. Typically a network of Continuum BACnet controllers

  • Connect into SpaceLogic RJ45 jack with UTP cable, and provide RS-485 screwed terminal connection from adapter

  • Only required for connection of field controllers on network, not for Automation Server hosting network

  • Maximum number of devices on MSTP network when mixture of SpaceLogic and Continuum b3 is 50

  • Use to gradually transition isolated MS/TP network to IP

Application 2: Provide Screwed Connection for Modbus RTU connected devices on RP controller

  • To enable connection of Modbus RTU devices to a SpaceLogic or EasyLogic Controller. Provides RS485 screwed terminal connection.

  • Connect into SpaceLogic RJ45 jack with UTP cable, and provide RS485 screwed terminal connection from adapter.

Application 1: Increase number of high power consuming devices on Sensor Bus for SpaceLogic MP controllers

  • Inject 24 VDC from an external power source onto the Sensor Bus
  • The Sensor Bus supports up to 2000mW from the MP controller. Any combination of devices that exceed that amount require an injection of power through RS485 Power Adapter.
  • Typically required for use with CO2 sensing, since these require an additional 400mW per device, so often exceeding the budget for 3 or 4 devices

Application 2: Increase the number of devices on the Room Bus

  • Room Bus can support 9 CRS modules on RP-C Pro
  • Inject 24 VDC from an external power source through RS-485 Power Adapter onto the Room Bus to increase number of devices to
    • 9 CRS modules plus up to 8 CRS-HIO modules

Application 3: Increase the distance of the Room Bus

  • Maximum length of Room Bus is 72m from SpaceLogic controller
  • Inject 24 VDC from an external power source through RS-485 Power Adapter onto the Room Bus. Place Power Adapters at start and end of network for termination.
    • Increase total Room Bus distance to 150m
  • Ideal for
    • Large hotel suites
    • Control of large office space or multiple rooms, typically with RP-C Pro Plus
  • Supports a mix of CRS Modules, CRS- HIO Modules and Insight-Sensors
